Target Information
The ERCC8 gene encodes a WD repeat protein that interacts with Cockayne syndrome type B (CSB) protein and p44, a subunit of the RNA polymerase II transcription factor IIH.
Mutations in ERCC8 are associated with Cockayne syndrome (CS), characterized by abnormal sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation and defective repair of transcriptionally active genes.
