Target Information
Cytokeratin pan belongs to a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. Cytokeratins range in molecular weight between 40–68 kDa, with isoelectric points between pH 4.9–7.8. Individual human cytokeratins are numbered 1 to 20. Expression patterns vary by epithelial type, maturation stage, and differentiation level.
Cytokeratin subtype expression is crucial for distinguishing different epithelial malignancies. Cytokeratin antibodies assist in tumor differential diagnosis via immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometry. Keratin composition varies with cell type, growth environment, and disease state, making them valuable markers in cancer research and tumor diagnosis.
