Product Specific Information
The OKT3 monoclonal antibody reacts with an epitope on the epsilon-subunit within the human CD3 complex. It has potent immunosuppressive properties and has been effective in treating renal, heart, and liver allograft rejection. CD3 is expressed by thymocytes and all mature T cells. Crosslinking of TCR initiates intracellular signaling leading to activation and proliferation.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested on human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.125 µg)/test.
Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 615 (BUV615) emits at 615 nm and is intended for use on cytometers equipped with a 355 nm ultraviolet laser. Ensure instrument compatibility.
Staining Recommendations:
- Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize polymer dye interactions.
- Protect from light due to photo-induced oxidation sensitivity.
- Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.

Target Information
The CD3 complex transduces antigen-recognition signals into T cells and regulates TCR surface expression. It includes CD3 gamma, delta, epsilon, and zeta subunits, encoded on chromosome 11. CD3 is expressed on T lymphocytes and thymocytes, but not on B or NK cells. Defects in CD3 genes are linked to CD3 immunodeficiency.
