Target Information
RET is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the cadherin superfamily. It plays a crucial role in neural crest development and signal transduction for cell growth and differentiation. RET can undergo oncogenic activation through cytogenetic rearrangement.
Mutations in RET are associated with:
- Multiple endocrine neoplasia type IIA and IIB
- Hirschsprung disease
- Medullary thyroid carcinoma
Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for the RET gene. Additional variants have been described but their biological validity remains unconfirmed.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
