• Immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) is a chymotrypsin-like serine protease of the kallikrein family, produced by the prostate epithelium and abundant in seminal fluid.
It can be detected in the serum of patients with prostatic carcinoma, predominantly complexed with alpha-1-antichymotrypsin (ACT).
A higher proportion of PSA is ACT-complexed in prostate cancer than in benign prostatic hyperplasia.
PSA is used to confirm prostatic acinar cell origin in primary and metastatic carcinoma and to distinguish it from non-prostatic carcinoma mimics.
