Target Information
EB1 family proteins are evolutionarily conserved proteins that bind microtubule plus-ends and centrosomes, regulating microtubule dynamics and organization. The MAPRE genes encode EB1 family proteins (MAPRE1, MAPRE2, MAPRE3), corresponding to EB1, RP1, and EBF3 proteins, respectively. EB1 (MAPRE1) is located at chromosome 20q11.2 and can be fused to MLL in pro-B acute lymphoblastic leukemia. EB1 interacts with the APC tumor-suppressor protein and plays a critical role in microtubule dynamics, cell polarity, and chromosome stability.
