Treacle 단백질은 독특한 N- 및 C-말단과 큰 중앙 반복 도메인을 포함합니다. TCOF1 유전자 변이는 두개안면 발달 이상을 특징으로 하는 Treacher Collins-Franceschetti 증후군(TCS)을 유발합니다. TCS의 증상에는 전도성 난청, 하악골 및 상악골 저형성, 아래로 기울어진 안열, 구개열 등이 포함됩니다.
