Target Information
TULP1 is a member of the tubby-like gene family (TULPs). Members of this family are found in plants, vertebrates, and invertebrates, sharing a conserved C-terminal region of approximately 200 amino acids.
The protein encoded by this gene plays a role in photoreceptor physiology. Mutations in TULP1 are associated with recessive juvenile retinitis pigmentosa and Leber congenital amaurosis-15.
