Target Information
Voltage-gated K⁺ channels in the plasma membrane control the repolarization and frequency of action potentials in neurons, muscles, and other excitable cells.
The KV gene family encodes more than 30 proteins forming K⁺ channel subunits, which differ in gating, permeation, and expression patterns.
Functional KV channels assemble as tetramers of pore-forming alpha subunits (KV1–KV9) and accessory subunits that modulate gating.
KV3.2 is a multipass membrane protein regulating voltage-dependent K⁺ permeability. Its tail may influence subcellular targeting and channel activity.
