Target Information
The SIRT2 protein (also known as Sirtuin for Silent Mating Type Information 2-Homolog) is a NAD-dependent deacetylase (NDAC) involved in gene silencing, cell cycle regulation, and DNA damage repair. It may function as a tumor suppressor in human gliomas and serve as a molecular marker for these cells. SIRT2 also acts as a redox sensor regulating muscle gene expression in response to nutrient and exercise stimuli and participates in the phosphorylation cascade during mitosis.
