This antibody has specificity for Human SENP8.

Target Information

SENP8 (Cysteine protease FKSG8; DEN1; FKSG8; HsT17512; NEDP1; PRSC2; SUMO/sentrin specific protease family member 8) is a novel cysteine protease belonging to the ULP family of deubiquitinases.
ULP family members consist of a C-terminal core catalytic domain and N-terminal extensions determining substrate specificity.
SENP8, a 24 kDa protein, plays a major role in regulating the NEDD8 pathway. It processes preNEDD8 to its mature form and deconjugates NEDD8 from substrates such as Cullins and p53.
SENP8 may help prevent accumulation of hyper-neddylated cullin and maintain mono-neddylated cullin levels, which are thought to increase the efficiency of ubiquitination by SCF ubiquitin ligases.
