Target Information
ABL1 cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase protooncogene encodes a cytoplasmic and nuclear kinase involved in cell differentiation, division, adhesion, and stress response. Activity is negatively regulated by its SH3 domain; deletion of SH3 converts ABL1 into an oncogene. The BCR-ABL1 fusion is found in many cases of chronic myelogenous leukemia. CDK1-mediated phosphorylation regulates the DNA-binding activity of ABL1, suggesting a role in the cell cycle.
