RASSF8는 Ras-association domain family (RASSF)에 속하는 종양 억제 단백질을 암호화합니다. 이 유전자는 상피세포의 부착연접 기능 유지에 필수적이며, 상피세포 이동에도 관여합니다. 폐 종양 억제 유전자 후보로 알려져 있으며, 염색체 전위 t(12;22)(p11.2;q13.3)에 의해 FBLN1 유전자와 융합된 형태가 복합 다지증(synpolydactyly) 유형에서 발견됩니다. 다양한 스플라이싱 변이체가 보고되어 있으며, 각각 다른 아이소폼을 암호화합니다.
