Target Information
MET (c-Met) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. After activation by its ligand, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3. These interactions activate signaling cascades including RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC pathways. MET plays crucial roles in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron development, angiogenesis, and kidney formation) and in adults (wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling). Dysregulation of MET is associated with various cancers including gastric, renal, and breast cancers, making it a key target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostics.
