Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus and is also secreted. Reduced expression increases susceptibility to ER stress-induced cell death and promotes cell proliferation. Initially thought to contain an arginine-rich N-terminal region, later studies revealed a shorter open reading frame lacking this tract. Polymorphisms previously associated with tumors were later identified in normal tissues, indicating they are not tumor-related.
