Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IL-6. Anti-Human IL-6-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human IL-6 by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, used with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human IL-6 (500-P26) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human IL-6.

Western Blot:
To detect Human IL-6 by Western Blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human IL-6 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B cell maturation. The protein acts as an endogenous pyrogen inducing fever in autoimmune diseases or infections. It is mainly expressed at inflammation sites, secreted into serum, and induces transcriptional inflammatory responses via the interleukin 6 receptor alpha. IL-6 is implicated in various inflammation-related diseases, including diabetes mellitus susceptibility and systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Elevated IL-6 levels are observed in viral infections, including COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2). Diseases associated with IL6 include Kaposi Sarcoma and Systemic Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.
