Target Information
This gene encodes a protein that participates in protein translation within mitochondria. Mutations in this gene have been associated with combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency, resulting in lactic acidosis and fatal encephalopathy. A pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 17.
