Target Information
Reelin is an extracellular matrix serine protease that plays a crucial role in the layering of neurons in the cerebral cortex and cerebellum. It regulates microtubule function in neurons and neuronal migration, influencing the migration of sympathetic preganglionic neurons in the spinal cord. Reelin acts as a barrier to neuronal migration and modulates cell adhesion through its enzymatic activity. Its binding to extracellular domains of lipoprotein receptors (VLDLR and LRP8/APOER2) induces tyrosine phosphorylation of DAB1 and affects TAU phosphorylation.
