Target Information
Reelin is an extracellular matrix serine protease that plays a crucial role in the layering of neurons in the cerebral cortex and cerebellum. It regulates microtubule function and neuronal migration, affecting sympathetic preganglionic neurons in the spinal cord by acting as a migration barrier. Its enzymatic activity modulates cell adhesion. Binding to the extracellular domains of lipoprotein receptors (VLDLR and LRP8/APOER2) induces tyrosine phosphorylation of DAB1 and modulates TAU phosphorylation.
