Target Information

IFN-induced antiviral protein which acts as an inhibitor of cellular and viral processes, including cell migration, proliferation, signaling, and viral replication. Enhances MAVS-mediated host antiviral responses by bridging TBK1 to MAVS, leading to TBK1 activation and IRF3 phosphorylation. Phosphorylated IRF3 translocates into the nucleus to promote antiviral gene transcription.

Exhibits antiproliferative activity via upregulation of CDKN1A/p21 and CDKN1B/p27. IFIT3 sequesters COPS5 in the cytoplasm, increasing nuclear CDKN1B/p27 levels and upregulating CDKN1A/p21 by downregulating MYC. Can negatively regulate the apoptotic effects of IFIT2.
