Target Information
BTLA (B and T-lymphocyte attenuator) is a co-inhibitory receptor belonging to the CD28 superfamily. It functions as a lymphocyte inhibitory receptor that modulates immune responses. BTLA is constitutively expressed on most CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, with expression decreasing upon T cell activation. It remains expressed on Th1 cells but not on Th2 cells. BTLA interacts with HVEM (herpesvirus entry mediator), a TNF receptor superfamily member, forming a pathway crucial for regulating lymphocyte activation and immune homeostasis.
