Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week; for longer periods, store aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freezing and thawing. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

The KIR (inwardly rectifying potassium channel) family allows potassium to flow more easily into the cell than out.
KIR4.1 (Kir1.2) is highly expressed in brain tissue, including glial cells, astrocytes, and cortical neurons.
It is also found in myelin-synthesizing oligodendrocytes and plays a key role in myelination during nervous system development.
Human KIR4.1 is located on chromosome 1.
KIR4.2 (Kir1.3) is expressed in kidney, lung, heart, thymus, and thyroid during development, mapped to chromosome 21 in the Down syndrome region, and may contribute to Down syndrome pathogenesis.
KIR5.1 forms functional channels only when coexpressed with KIR4.1 or KIR4.2 in kidney and pancreas.
