Product Specific Information
Injection of antibody 103-A1 into the lumen of seminiferous tubules leads to disruption of actin filaments in Sertoli cells at the Sertoli–maturing spermatid ectoplasmic specialization and exfoliation of maturing spermatids from the seminiferous epithelium.
Target Information
Nectin-3 is an 83 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein, part of the immunoglobulin superfamily. Nectins (nectin-1 to -4) are calcium-independent cell-cell adhesion molecules that form homophilic and heterophilic interactions to create various junctions, including cadherin-based adherens junctions, synaptic junctions, and Sertoli cell-spermatid junctions.
Nectin-3 (also known as PRR3) is predominantly expressed in testis and placenta and interacts with afadin at adherence junctions. It also shows strong affinity with CD155 (Poliovirus Receptor).
Injection of antibody 103-A1 into seminiferous tubules disrupts actin filaments in Sertoli cells and causes exfoliation of maturing spermatids.
