Monoclonal antibody 502-57 has been raised against the extracellular domain of mouse Nectin-2.
This antibody cross-reacts with human Nectin-2.
Target Information
The Nectin-2 gene encodes a single-pass type I membrane glycoprotein with two Ig-like C2-type domains and one Ig-like V-type domain.
It is a plasma membrane component of adherens junctions and serves as an entry receptor for certain mutant strains of herpes simplex virus and pseudorabies virus.
It plays a role in cell-to-cell viral spread and has been associated with variations in multiple sclerosis severity.
Alternate transcriptional splice variants encoding different isoforms have been characterized.
