For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, it is recommended to perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD2 (LFA-2) is a monomeric surface antigen (MW 45–58 kDa) of human T-lymphocytes, expressed on most peripheral blood T cells and some natural killer cells, but not on B lymphocytes.
Monoclonal antibodies against CD2 inhibit rosette formation with sheep erythrocytes, suggesting CD2 acts as or associates with the erythrocyte receptor.
CD2 interacts with CD58 to stabilize adhesion between T cells and antigen-presenting cells. Despite low affinity in solution, the CD2–CD58 interaction achieves strong adhesion at cell interfaces.
T cell activation increases CD2 expression and mobility, facilitating CD2–CD58 contact and strengthening intercellular adhesion.
CD2 deficiency can reduce intestinal inflammation and modulate infection control.
Dysfunction of CD2 is associated with conditions such as penile squamous cell carcinoma and immune deficiency due to thymic absence.
