Hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) is an intracellular neutral lipase found mainly in adipose and steroidogenic tissues. It hydrolyzes triglycerides and cholesteryl esters and is the major enzyme responsible for mobilizing free fatty acids from adipose tissue.
