Target Information
JAKMIP2 (Janus kinase and microtubule-interacting protein 2), also known as NECC1, JAMIP2, or KIAA0555, is an 810 amino acid protein belonging to the JAKMIP family. It localizes to the Golgi apparatus and is highly expressed in the brain, with moderate expression in thymus, spleen, and lung. JAKMIP2 exists as three alternatively spliced isoforms. The gene is located on human chromosome 5q32 and mouse chromosome 18 B3. Chromosome 5 contains approximately 181 million base pairs, representing about 6% of the human genome. Deletions in chromosome 5 are associated with Cri du chat syndrome and certain leukemias and myelodysplastic syndromes.
