Target Information
The XAGE-1d gene is a member of the XAGE subfamily, which belongs to the GAGE family. GAGE genes are expressed in various tumors and in some fetal and reproductive tissues.
This gene is strongly expressed in Ewing’s sarcoma, alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, and normal testis. The encoded protein contains a nuclear localization signal and shares sequence similarity with other GAGE/PAGE proteins.
Due to its expression pattern and sequence similarity, this protein is classified as a cancer-testis (CT) antigen. Alternative splicing and transcription start sites result in multiple transcript variants.
