Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid F-box motif. F-box proteins form part of the SCF (SKP1-cullin-F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex, functioning in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. They are divided into three classes:
- Fbws: Contain WD-40 domains
- Fbls: Contain leucine-rich repeats
- Fbxs: Contain diverse interaction modules or no recognizable motifs
FBXL7 belongs to the Fbls class and includes several tandem leucine-rich repeats.
