IGF2BP2 (Insulin-like Growth Factor 2 mRNA-binding Protein 2) belongs to the IGF-II mRNA-binding protein (IMP) family.
It recruits target transcripts to cytoplasmic protein-RNA complexes and contains multiple KH and RRM domains.
This protein binds to the 5′ UTR of IGF2 mRNA, regulating its translation.
Alternative splice variants encode different isoforms.
Autoantibodies against IGF2BP2 have been detected in sera from some hepatocellular carcinoma patients.
