Target Information
The TCHHL1 gene belongs to the S100 fused-type protein (SFTP) family and is located in a cluster of SFTP genes on chromosome 1q21. Members of this family are associated with complex skin disorders. The gene’s expression is hair-specific and spatially restricted within the distal inner root sheath of hair follicles, suggesting an important role in hair morphogenesis.
