Reconstitute in sterile water to 0.1 mg/mL. Centrifuge vial before opening. Suspend the product by gently pipetting the above recommended solution down the sides of the vial. DO NOT VORTEX. Allow several minutes for complete reconstitution.
For prolonged storage, dilute to working aliquots in a 0.1% BSA solution, store at -80°C and avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in various biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion.
This protein acts as a secreted factor with growth-stimulating effects on cultured glial cells. In the nervous system, it is mainly produced by neurons and may be important for glial cell development. Expression of the mouse homolog is dependent on Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling. Mice lacking this gene show male-to-female sex reversal, suggesting a role in testicular embryogenesis.
