Target Information
PRELP는 결합 조직의 세포외 기질에 존재하는 leucine-rich repeat 단백질로, basement membrane을 하부 결합 조직에 고정시키는 역할을 합니다.
이 단백질은 type I collagen과 basement membrane, type II collagen과 cartilage에 결합하며, heparan sulfate proteoglycan인 perlecan에도 결합합니다.
또한 Hutchinson-Gilford progeria (HGP)의 병리 발생과 관련이 있는 것으로 제시되며, 이 질환에서는 basement membrane과 cartilage 내 collagen 결합이 결여되어 있습니다.
