THAP6 (THAP domain-containing protein 6)은 222 아미노산으로 구성된 단백질로, 하나의 THAP-type zinc finger를 포함하며 두 개의 alternative splicing isoform으로 존재합니다.
THAP6 유전자는 약 36,528 염기로 구성되어 있으며 인간 염색체 4q21.1에 위치합니다. 염색체 4는 인간 유전체의 약 6%를 차지하며 약 900개의 유전자를 포함합니다.
이 염색체에는 Huntington 병과 관련된 Huntingtin 유전자, FGFR-3 (연골형성 이상 및 방광암 관련), Ellis-van Creveld 증후군, methylmalonic acidemia, 다낭신장증 관련 유전자 등이 위치합니다.
