PGAP3는 GPI-anchor 성숙 과정의 지질 리모델링 단계에 관여합니다. 이 과정은 GPI-anchor 단백질의 sn-2 위치에 두 개의 포화 지방산 사슬을 생성하는 단계로 구성됩니다. GPI 리모델링 동안 sn-2 위치의 아실 사슬을 제거하는 phospholipase A2 활성을 위해 필요합니다 (추정).
