PGAP3는 GPI-anchor 성숙 과정에서 지질 리모델링 단계에 관여하며, GPI-anchor 단백질의 sn-2 위치에서 포화 지방산 사슬을 생성하는 데 필요합니다. 또한 GPI 리모델링 중 sn-2 위치의 아실 사슬을 제거하는 phospholipase A2 활성을 수행합니다 (추정).
