Target Information
Sm-like proteins were identified in a variety of organisms based on sequence homology with the Sm protein family. These proteins contain the Sm sequence motif, consisting of two regions separated by a variable linker that folds as a loop. Sm-like proteins are believed to form a stable heteromer present in tri-snRNP particles, which play an important role in pre-mRNA splicing.
