This antibody detects endogenous levels of PLCG2 only when phosphorylated at Tyr1245.
Target Information
Phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C (PLC) plays a crucial role in receptor-mediated signal transduction by generating two second messengers, inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate and diacylglycerol, from phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate.
There are multiple mammalian PLC isozymes, including PLC beta1–4, PLC gamma1–2, PLC delta1–2, and PLC epsilon.
PLC delta1 acts as a calcium signal amplifier and is activated by atypical GTP-binding proteins. It functions as an effector for transglutaminase II-mediated oxytocin receptor and alpha1B-adrenoreceptor signaling.
Mouse PLC delta1 is highly expressed in brain, heart, lung, and testis. Abnormal accumulation of PLC delta in Alzheimer’s disease brains suggests its role in AD pathology.
PLC delta2 expression is associated with intestinal metaplasia and adenocarcinoma, making it a potential marker for gastric malignant transformation.
