Product Specific Information

The A20 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD45 molecule, the leukocyte common antigen (LCA) in CD45.1-expressing mouse strains. These strains include SJL/J, DA, STS/A, and RIII, and CD45.1 is expressed by all leukocytes in these strains.

Applications Reported:
This A20 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of SJL mouse splenocytes. Recommended usage ≤ 0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Target Information

CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising ~10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It regulates Src-family kinases and is essential for lymphocyte development and antigen signaling. Multiple isoforms arise through alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions. Isoform expression varies by cell type and physiological state. CD45 also promotes cell survival via integrin-mediated signaling and participates in DNA fragmentation during apoptosis. CD45RA is an isoform with restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes.
