Product Specific Information

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Target Information

The protein encoded by the NDUFS1 gene belongs to the complex I 75 kDa subunit family. Mammalian complex I is composed of 45 different subunits and is located in the mitochondrial inner membrane. This protein exhibits NADH dehydrogenase and oxidoreductase activity, transferring electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain, with ubiquinone as the immediate electron acceptor. It is the largest subunit of complex I and part of the iron-sulfur fragment of the enzyme, possibly forming part of the active site where NADH is oxidized. Mutations in this gene are associated with complex I deficiency. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
