Target Information
PASK is an evolutionarily conserved protein found in yeast, flies, and mammals. PAS domains regulate intracellular signaling in response to environmental and cellular stimuli. PASKIN contains PAS A and PAS B domains and a serine/threonine kinase domain related to AMP kinases. PASKIN activity reduces carbohydrate storage and enhances protein synthesis. PASKIN-dependent phosphorylation inhibits mammalian glycogen synthase.
