This OX42 monoclonal antibody reacts with rat CD11b and CD11c.
CD11b (integrin alpha M, Mac-1) and CD11c (integrin alpha X) are components of complement receptors CR3 and CR4, respectively.
They are expressed on macrophages, monocytes, granulocytes, dendritic cells, and microglia. OX42 detects microglia in brain, liver, and epidermal cells.

OX42 antibody inhibits complement-mediated rosette formation and granulocyte aggregation.

Target Information

Integrins are heterodimeric membrane proteins composed of alpha and beta chains.
CD11b mediates adhesion and uptake of complement-coated particles, identical to CR3 (iC3b receptor). It also binds fibrogen, factor X, and ICAM1.
Expressed on macrophages, granulocytes, NK cells, and monocytes; used as a microglial marker.

CD11c encodes integrin alpha X, forming the alpha X beta 2 complex (CR4).
This complex overlaps with alpha M beta 2 integrin in neutrophil and monocyte adherence and phagocytosis of complement-coated particles.
Mutations in CD11b/c are linked to systemic lupus erythematosus 6.
