Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%) to prevent contamination.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- Superior specificity and sensitivity
- Consistent performance between lots
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to the rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody is specific for Mouse IL-16.
Target Information
IL-16 is a pleiotropic cytokine functioning as a chemoattractant, T cell activation modulator, and inhibitor of HIV replication. Its signaling is mediated by CD4. Proteolytic processing yields two functional proteins: the secreted C-terminal peptide (cytokine function) and an N-terminal product potentially involved in cell cycle regulation. Caspase 3 is implicated in this processing. Multiple transcript variants are generated by alternative splicing.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
