This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. Antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned, and individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information

CD55 (decay-accelerating factor, DAF) is a GPI-anchored membrane glycoprotein that protects cells from complement cascade activation. It interacts with CD97 for T cell regulation and complement control.
In tumors, CD55 promotes neoangiogenesis, tumorigenesis, invasiveness, and resistance to apoptosis. It is a ~70 kDa glycoprotein in erythrocytes with a GPI anchor and significant O-glycan content in other cells.
CD55 binds activated C4b or C3b complement fragments, preventing assembly and accelerating decay of complement pathways. It carries Cromer-related blood group antigens. Two alternatively spliced transcripts exist — one encoding the membrane-bound form and another producing a soluble form at lower levels. CD55 has been implicated in prostate cancer growth and survival.
