This antibody is directed against mouse p19Arf protein. No reactivity is observed against human or hamster homologues.
The epitope is mapped to amino acids 62–75 of mouse p19Arf.
BLAST analysis indicates that no significant sequence homology exists for this region with p19Arf homologues from other species.
Rat homologue shows 78% homology (11 of 14 identities).
No additional information is available for reactivity with p19Arf protein from other sources.

Target Information

In humans, the multiple tumor suppressor 1 locus (MTS1) encodes two unrelated genes, p16INK4a and p19ARF.
Both act as inhibitors of cell proliferation, but through different mechanisms.
p19ARF functions in a p53-dependent pathway to counter uncontrolled proliferation and oncogenic signals.
Mice lacking the p19ARF gene rapidly develop a broad spectrum of tumors, indicating its importance as a tumor suppressor.
Additionally, p19ARF helps prevent transforming signals from various oncoproteins via the p53 regulatory loop.
These studies demonstrate the critical role of p19ARF in cell cycle control and tumor suppression.
