FAM103A1, also known as RNMT-activating mini protein, is a 118 amino acid protein belonging to the RAM family. As a component of the mRNA cap binding complex, FAM103A1 localizes to the nucleus and is required for efficient mRNA cap methylation. It regulates RNMT expression through a post-transcriptional stabilizing mechanism.
