Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
SBF1 is a probable pseudophosphatase lacking several amino acids in the catalytic pocket, rendering it catalytically inactive. However, the pocket can still bind phosphorylated substrates and may protect them from phosphatases. It inhibits myoblast differentiation in vitro and induces oncogenic transformation in fibroblasts. According to PubMed:20937701, SBF1 may act as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) activating RAB28, promoting GDP-to-GTP exchange and converting inactive GDP-bound Rab proteins into their active GTP-bound form.
