Product Specific Information
- For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature (RT).
- Formalin-fixed tissue staining requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cooling at RT for 20 minutes.

Dystrophin is a 427 kDa protein encoded by the DMD/BMD gene on the X chromosome (Xp21).
Western blotting and immunohistochemistry are established methods for detecting dystrophin abnormalities in muscle biopsies.
Dystrophin abnormalities occur in nearly all patients with Duchenne or Becker muscular dystrophy (DMD/BMD), though genetic mutations may be identified in only ~65% of cases.
