Target Information
Beta-catenin은 세포 간 접착 구조(adherens junction, AJ)의 구성 요소로, E-cadherin과 상호작용하여 세포 간 접착 및 성장 조절에 관여합니다.
또한, adenomatous polyposis coli 단백질 및 미세소관과 결합하여 다양한 신호전달 경로(Wnt/Wingless 등)에 참여합니다.
Beta-catenin은 모낭 세포, 기저세포, 외부 및 내부 뿌리초 세포 등 다양한 세포 유형에서 발현되며, 여러 종양(예: pilomatrixoma, medulloblastoma, colorectal cancer, ovarian cancer 등)과 관련이 있습니다.
핵 내에서는 Lef/Tcf 전사인자군을 공동활성화하여 cyclin D 및 c-myc 유전자의 발현을 촉진, 세포 증식 및 종양 형성과 관련된 역할을 합니다.
