Target Information
PTK2B (FAK2) is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase involved in calcium-induced regulation of ion channels and activation of the MAP kinase signaling pathway.
It regulates:
- Actin cytoskeleton reorganization
- Cell polarization, migration, adhesion, and spreading
- Bone remodeling
FAK2 is essential for normal levels and migration of splenic B-cells and functions downstream of integrin, collagen, immune, G-protein coupled, cytokine, chemokine, and growth factor receptors.
Aberrant expression is associated with cancer cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and metastasis, including glioma, hepatocellular carcinoma, lung, and breast cancer.
